Access to safe sanitation is essential for protecting health, dignity, and quality of life. Yet in many densely populated low-income communities, limited sanitation infrastructure continues to create serious challenges for families, children, and other vulnerable groups.
In the slum communities near Bastuhara Colony, Khulna, insufficient access to hygienic sanitation facilities had contributed to unhealthy living conditions and increased health risks.
At Charm Foundation, we believe sanitation improvement must go beyond temporary intervention. Sustainable progress requires practical infrastructure, community awareness, and solutions that respond directly to the realities of underserved communities.
Through the Sanitation Improvement Program in Khulna, Charm Foundation worked to develop and improve sanitation facilities with the goal of creating cleaner surroundings, reducing sanitation-related health risks, and supporting healthier daily living.

Responding to sanitation challenges in Khulna
The densely populated communities near Bastuhara Colony include many low-income and displaced families who face limited access to basic sanitation infrastructure.
